Congratulations! You arrived to Death City just in time for the holidays. Rumour has it that Excalibur just couldn't let the season pass without gracing the entire multiverse with yet another retelling of his magnificent story, so he pulled a few strings to make this happen, but no one really knows if that's true or not. Have you been here before or are you brand new to the city? Are you a Meister or a Weapon? (In case you're a Weapon, don't forget that throwing yourself down a flight of stairs is a great way to find out what your Weapon form is!) Here, have a brand new communicator and the key to your new living quarters. And for the love of Shinigami, don't press the SOS button unless it really is an emergency.


Welcome to the SC revival post, and Happy Holidays! soul_campaign was a jamjar rp set in the Soul Eater verse that ran from June 2009 until its endgame in August 2014 (June 2009 - October 2010 in game). Some characters chose to stay in the city after endgame while others chose to return to their worlds; others came and went as the game progressed. Feel free to jump in and relive your days at SC, or skip right ahead to present day and revisit the city years after the war ended. Why not throw new characters into the mix as well? The sky is the limit! Just play nice and have fun!

[Although social skills and tactfulness have never been his forte, Near has gotten a lot better in the years since he arrived to Death City. Having Genesis as a friend (as bizarre as the concept of being friends with someone still feels like) definitely helped him improve, but sometimes, he gets further proof of how badly equipped he is to handle other human beings. Case in point: mentioning resonance to someone who has been partnerless for a very long time. Highly observant as always, he notices the small shift in Genesis' expression all too well, but he doesn't bring it up. Should he bring it up?

He twirls slowly at a strand of hair.]

Would a Deathbucks gift card make it up to you? [He's only half joking; Near has so much money now that a sizeable gift card wouldn't even make a dent in his finances.] You did well. I do appreciate the caffeine.

Well, if you do want to make it up to me, getting cans of special dog food for Mei and Apple would be wonderful.

[Genesis chuckles, the wistful feeling of missing his past Meisters shaken off. Nowadays, most of his finances have gone into taking care of his home and his two dogs. With the two of them being active, medium-sized breeds, he did happen to spend quite a lot to keep them happy and healthy. They do a great deal to keep him from loneliness when he's at home, too. He pretty much regards them as his family now.]

[A corner of his lips curls up. He never had pets, but he can imagine that taking good care of them doesn't come cheap, regardless of what species one chooses as a pet in the first place.]

Consider it done, [he replies, taking another sip of his coffee. He doesn't even ask what kind of food the dogs usually eat: he simply doesn't have to. He can get that information without a problem, albeit slightly illegaly.]

[Genesis grins and takes a sip of his own coffee. It's a good day, he thinks. Well, any day he gets food for his pets is a good day, really.]
